Stampin' Up! Autumn/Winter catalogue 2015

If it's late August it must be...

Stampin' Up! Autumn/Winter catalogue time! Yayyy!!!

Face it, you were sick of summer anyway. It's done, move on. The new catalogue launches on 1 September & has lots of lovely new stamps, papers and punches to see you through until January, plus beautifully photographed ideas of how to use them.

If you've spent £30 with me in the last three months I'll be sending you one for free. Otherwise they cost £2 to cover postage (redeemable with your first order) :)

I'm really looking forward to working with this year's new items - there are some lovely papers that put me in mind of 1960's kitschy bambi type imagery, so I'll have fun with them.

My classes start up again on 24 September so look out for details of them on my Facebook page.   October & November will both be Christmas based classes & I'm hoping to squeeze a Thank You card class in in early December.  Lots going on so do like my facebook page to keep in touch!

Sam x :)

CAS friendship card

Here's a clean and simple card using the Sprinkles of Life stamp set & punch & a few other bits and pieces. I really love the way white on white works as a background, especially with a bit of texture using embossing & paper piercing. Did you know that Stampin' Up! now sells heavier weight Whisper White cardstock which is perfect for card blanks?

I'm busy preparing for my Autumn classes and projects and the moment. Check back for details of my monthly classes and do get in touch if you'd like me to put on a class for you, or you'd like to host your own Stampin' Up! party. I cover the Stockport & South Manchester area :)

Weekly deals 5 August 2015

Here's this week's Weekly Deals, available at these prices until next Tuesday night. Can't praise the Envelope Punch Board enough, I use mine all the time. It can make boxes too - check out YouTube for video tutorials.

Silver lining card

Love the clean simplicity of this card & the sentiment is very true. OK, maybe not "every" cloud - I know a fair few people going through serious things right now who might raise an eyebrow at that - but it's certainly possible to find positive elements in most things.

I used the Tree Builder Punch and Sprinkles of Life stamp set to make this card, and layered the cloud over a punch out of glimmer paper. I didn't even punch the glimmer cloud out in full cos I'm too mean - I just punched a sliver & peeped it out from underneath.

Mini birthday bunting with Cutie Pie Thinlits

The Sweet Stack Stamp set & Cutie Pie Thinlits make a lovely cake box (see previous entry). But you can use them for many other projects too. Here I've made mini birthday bunting.

I stamped the Happiest of Birthdays stamp & cut it out with the triangle die. I repeat stamped the stamp in a contrasting colour & punched out the centre using the 3/4" circle punch. I mounted that on the  7/8" scalloped circle punch, then mounted them both on a 1" circle punched from gold glimmer card.
Use the ric rac type die to cut the scalloped edge - the scallops match the length of the triangle perfectly. Glue them to the back of the card, just peeping out. Finally punch holes either side of each pennant & string bakers twine through.

I think it looks great in small spaces - dressing up a work colleague's desk perhaps.

Or string it across a kitchen cupboard.

It's a fun little project & costs pence to make :)

Cake slice gift box

I made this lovely cake slice gift box using the Cutie Pie thinlits dies to cut the box out, and the Sweet Stack stamp set for the sentiment.

They have a rear closure & really do make lovely little gift & favour boxes. You can put sweets, money & tiny tokens in them.

The thinlits come with lots of little extra pieces I've not used here. In addition, I've added a paper flower made with the spiral flower die. The leaves are from the retired Flower Frenzy die. The nearest current equivalent would be the Bouquet Bigz die.

I am on a diet & would love to be able to bouncily declare that this cake "is as good as having the real thing!!".

It is not.

Lidded milk carton box tutorial - part 2 (video)

Here's the final part of my milk carton box tutorial using the gift bag punch board - decorating the box.

No, I don't know why my voice cuts in over the intro either!

Hope you have a go at this, it's a great use of the punch board :)
