That's me in the corner...

Thrilled that my Valentine's Treat Bag made it onto the front page of the Stampin' Up! US website, and then onto the telly in Utah! Follow this link to get  a fleeting glimpse at 3.28 - bottom right of the screen. (Stampin' Up! are based in Utah, so it's not quite as random as it seems.)

Valentine treat bag

Here's a little Valentine treat bag made using the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits and the new Bloomin' Heart Thinlits from the Spring/Summer catalogue. I think with a tweak to the sentiment this would be also be great for a wedding themed bag - maybe to hold gift vouchers, or even confetti.

The two little flowers are tiny dies which come with the main heart die, so it's great value for money.

The Bloomin Hearts thinlits have a coordinating stamp set which I used to stamp the backing paper & the smaller heart. You can buy them both as a bundle (item no 140818) & save 15%. And remember that for every £45 you spend, you can pick a free item from the Sale-a-Bration brochure.

Here's what I used:

Halloween trick or treat bags

Here's another Halloween project - this time a little bag to gift sweet treats to spooky doorstep visitors!

The bag is made using the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits die, so you'll need a die cutting machine like the Big Shot to use it. I love its attention to detail, right down to the serrated edge along the top. Make it in thin brown paper & it would be a proper little sweetie shop bag!

The bag particularly suits a long, narrow snack like a Finger of Fudge. However, if you're feeling in a tricksy mood yourself you could turn the tables on your visitors & fill random bags with healthy cereal bars & an educational tract on bio-diversity in the Peak District.

And I wonder why my house gets egged on Halloween...

The striped and star papers are from the Happy Haunting designer series paper pack. The papers are double sided and while one side is Halloween themed, flip it over and the other can be used for any occassion.

The Trick or Treat stamped sentiment and bird are cut out from one of the large stamps in the Witches' NIght stamp set. I love that set, it's definitely a keeper.

I've mounted it all on some black glimmer paper (a great accent paper, don't just keep it for Halloween) and a spider web doily (at just £4.25 the cheapest way to inject a little Halloween fun into your craft projects).

Here's what I used. You can click on any of the items and buy them from my Stampin' Up! shop. And if you're thinking of slamming in a big order (£200 or more - hey, it can happen!) until 9 November you'll receive extra Stampin' Rewards to spend in the catalogue - see http://www2.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ItemList.aspx?categoryid=140000 for more info :)

Gift card bag

A cute little gift card holder I made using the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits & the new Cherry on Top 6x6 paper stack.

It fits a standard gift card you can pick up at the supermarket. In this case I chose a Costa Coffee card - I just had to trim a sliver from each edge of the cardboard carrier to make it fit.

Wedding gift bag

Here we have what I am romantically naming the Wedding Gift Pouch. For when the lovebirds have asked you to mark their special day with the cold hard gift of cash.(And why not? They've probably lived together for ages & have all the stuff they need anyway, so why risk being gifted a cheese grater shaped like a fish? These things should not be left to chance!)

The pouch itself is made using the Mini Treat Bag thinlits die & I overstamped it with the big Something Lacy stamp which I'd patchily applied Sahara Sand ink to, (I stamped off onto scrap before stamping on the bag so it was really faded).

I machine stitched the swirly whirly lines onto the card for an elegant yet shabby, distressed look. The labels are made with the Apothecary Accents framelits die set, which was on the retired list & I think has now sold out. I'm not getting rid of it though. You'll have to prize it out of my cold dead hand, I love it so much.

I am really pleased with how this turned out, hope you like it too! You can still buy most of the things I used to make it in my Stampin' Up! store. Check out the bargains on the retired list and in the clearance section too.

Birthday card

A pop up birthday card for a special chap who turned 10 this week.

I spelt out the name with the little letters Thinlits. They don't include numbers, so I used the 'O' for a zero & the '1' from the file tabs Thinlits set, cut down slightly. That set contains numbers 1, 2, 3 which, conveniently, is the age bracket all my son's friends are just hitting, so I'll get good use out of them for a few years!
